Privacy Policy
Deck Bowl · Effective October 22, 2026
Deck Bowl is a game for Android and iPhone. You play seasons on your own, and you can play a friend live. Playing on your own never leaves your phone. A game with a friend goes through a small server of ours, and this policy says what passes through it and how long it stays.
The short version
- Playing on your own never leaves your phone.
- A game with a friend passes through our relay, which deletes it within a day.
- No accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking, and we never see your payment details.
What the app keeps on your phone
Your franchise, the season in progress, a game with a friend that's under way, and your friends list (the names and jerseys your friends chose, your record against each, and any nickname you gave them) are saved as files on your phone, so you can pick up where you left off. Deleting the app deletes them.
If you've turned on your phone's own backup (Android's backup to your Google account, or iCloud on iPhone), your phone may include these files in that backup. That's handled by Google or Apple under their terms, not by the app.
Games with a friend
When you host or join a game with a friend, your phone and theirs connect through our relay, which runs on Cloudflare and passes each move from one phone to the other. What goes through it:
- The room code you share.
- The name and number on your jersey, which your friend sees. You choose them; you don't have to use your real name.
- Your team for the game: its city, color, players, and defense.
- A random ID made for your franchise, so each phone can keep your record against the other. It isn't tied to your name, email, or device.
- Every move in the game.
The relay keeps these only while the game is open, and for at most a day after a phone leaves, so a game can be picked up after the app closes. Then they're deleted. It keeps a move only until the other phone has it, and never logs what's in a game. Like any internet service, Cloudflare sees your phone's IP address to carry the connection. The relay doesn't store it.
The connection is encrypted. Nothing that passes through the relay is sold, shared with anyone else, or used for advertising.
Reporting or blocking a player
Report, on a friend's card, opens an email to us in your own mail app, with the name and number on their jersey, their city, and their franchise's random ID, and room for anything you want to add. Nothing is sent until you send it, and it comes from your email address. We use a report only to look into it, and keep it only as long as that takes.
Blocking a player is kept on your phone. Nothing is sent, and they aren't told.
If you email us about anything else, we use your address and what you write only to answer you.
What the app doesn't do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No ads, and no advertising, analytics, or tracking services.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone, or other personal data.
This website
deckbowl.com has no cookies, analytics, or ads, and asks you for nothing. An invite's page shows the room code from its link. Like any website's host, Cloudflare sees your IP address and your browser's details to deliver the pages. The site doesn't record them, and we see only counts of visits.
Purchases
Your franchise's first season is free. The full game, every season after it, is a one-time purchase. Google Play or the App Store handles the payment, so the app never sees your card or other payment details: it only learns whether you own the full game, and keeps that on your phone so the game works offline. Nothing about your purchase is sent to us.
Who handles your data
A few services run parts of Deck Bowl, each only to do its part:
- Cloudflare runs the relay and this website, and forwards email to support@deckbowl.com to our inbox.
- Apple and Google handle purchases, through the App Store and Google Play. Your phone's own backup, if you've turned it on, is theirs too, under their terms.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. We don't sell or share your personal information.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@deckbowl.com. There's usually little to send: your franchise and friends list live on your phone, where deleting the app deletes them, and the relay deletes a game within a day. What we may hold is email you've sent us, which we'll copy to you or delete when you ask. A report about a player holds only their jersey's name and number, their city, and a random ID, and we delete it once we've looked into it.
If you're in the UK or the European Union, you can also complain to your country's data protection authority.
Children
The game isn't directed at children under 13, and it doesn't knowingly collect information from children.
International users
Deck Bowl is operated from the United States. Cloudflare serves the relay, this website, and email from data centers around the world, so a game's moves may pass through, and be held for the time described above, in a country other than yours.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
